In the section "Historical works" published a review "F. I. Leontovich. Sources of Russian-Lithuanian law" (1896).
Brochure prof. Leontovich gives an overview of not all the monuments of Russian-Lithuanian law in general, but only the oldest ones, as he himself notes at the end, understand – only those issued before Statutes.

In the section "Publicistics" published the article "Utraquisation or division of the university?" (1907).
The Polish professors, with a statement from March 3, decided to keep the Polish character of the university and to oppose it’s utraquisation "in any form."

In the section "Literary studies" published the review "I. S. Sventsitsky. The beginning of philosophy in Russian literature XI-XVI centuries" (1902).
But these ideas of "organic connections" and "influence" remained "an empty sound", and the author remained only when picking up the crumbs.

The section "Popular works" is replenished with article "Shevchenko and the Ukrainian past" (1912).
But Shevchenko did not regard to these prudent cautions and boldly rushed into that world, where in front of him from the tall graves were standed the ghosts of the old free, brilliant life.

The section "Biographies. Obituaries" is replenished with obituary "Marc Kropivnitsky" (1910).
Kropivnitsky greatly deserved also that he himself composed theatrical plays for the Ukrainian theater; he and Karpenko-Kary are the most prominent Ukrainian playwrights (theatrical writers).

We publish review "E.R. von Stern. A new epigraphic material found in the South Russia" (1902).
Excavations in the old castle of Akkerman did not give any particularly interesting things, but showed the remains of human life, from the times before antiquities and antique to newer ones – Turkish.

In the section "Historical works" published a review «Antoni Prochaska. О prawdziwosći listów Gedymina» (1896).
The whole article should have the character of the act of appeal against the orders’ policy. The author has more clearly stood one of the questions – about the Gedimin’s intentions to be baptized.

In the glorious Kyiv company Konstantin Petrovich Mikhalchuk took on studies on the language, the sacrament of the Ukrainian national idea.

We publish review "I.A. Linnichenko and V.V. Khvoiko. Vessels with signs from finds on sites of Trypillian culture" (1902).
Reading these rather random, fragmentary reports, we have to ask ourselves again – when will we finally receive for the corresponding description and publication of those findings of Mr. Khvoika.

In the section "Historical works" published a review "Nikolai Rozhkov. Reasons for the beginning of the process of "Russian Truth" (1896).
A small article by Mr. Rozhkov deals with two questions: what was needed to start the criminal trial, and what does the term "poklep (slander)" mean?

A number of quite ideological and conscious representatives of the Ukrainian people managed to pass through in the second Duma, who, of course, will try to rally around the consonant elements.

The first article is divided into two parts, in the first respected author sets the date of "The Word of the Princes", in the second – analyzes it’s various versions.

Pavlo Polubotok during the times of Mazepa was Colonel Chernihiv. There was a smart, experienced, and very fond of his Ukraine and his Ukrainian people.

The section "Biographies. Obituaries" is replenished with note "Nicholas Kostomarov" (1910).
He did not like the fact that in the stories were written only about the kings, princes, and ministers themselves, but how a simple people lived, one could not knew from the history of that time.

We publish review «D[octo]r Izydor Szaraniewicz. Cmentarzyska przedhistoryczne we wsiach Czechach i Wysocku, w powiecie Brodzkim» (1901).
Mr. Gadachek, judging by the forms of fibula, puts this sediment in the III-VI centuries after Christ, but postpone the full arguments to the publication of an findings atlas.

The book contains historical stories written in 1911 – 1914, published and unpublished. Themes are as irreal as in the first series ("Sub divo").

In the section "Historical works" published a review "Prof. F. I. Leontovich. The national question in ancient Russia" (1896).
The result to which Mr. Leontovich comes is negative, in Ancient Rus, as in the Moscow period, there was no consciousness of political national unity, only a sense of ethnographic intimacy.

Georgy Konysky, Archbishop of Belorussia, who became famous as the defender of Orthodox faith in the lands that belonged to Poland then, also has a place of honor in the history of Ukrainian literature.

Yura Shkriblyak became famous in the 1870’s by his wood carvings, and after him this art took over his three sons: the oldest Basil, the middle Nicholas and the youngest Fed.

The division into departments is incomplete systematic. There are significant gaps in the literature, as on the other hand, things are still being drawn up that do not belong to this magazine at all.

I am not have in my hope at all that the guesses, laid out here, can find a wide echo. But I think that in someone they will touch the matching strings and remind them of their own mood.

The bitter experience of the first Duma, when our deputies, having contacted various Russian parties during the elections, heard themselves connected later in the Duma, showed how harmful was such a linkage.

In the section "Literary studies" published the review "V. M. Gussov. To the issue of the editorial versions of the "Prayer" by Daniil Zatochnik" (1901).
Mr. Gussov generally agrees with Mr. Lyashchenko in his conclusions about the time and circumstances of writing "Prayer", only the pressure puts on the fact that it belongs to Suzdal.

He published a collection of more interesting documents and with them his articles; he issued such large books in a dozen.

Even more interest for us will be the publication of items of ancient Russian culture and art, with which the collection of Khanenko is very rich.

The first two stories come from the time when I was seriously prepared to be a fiction writer and worked hard on that. It was here in the final classes of the gymnasium.

In the section "Historical works" published a review "P.A. Ivanov. The historical fate of the Volyn land from ancient times to the end of the XIV century" (1896).
Ivanov collected diligently what he can, and his picture of the inner history of Volhynia has considerable interest, although – inevitably – it has many unfilled seats.

It’s not easy to keep up the magazine among such adventures, among such an uncertain and hostile atmosphere, combating both technical and all other difficulties associated with the transition to another ground.

In the section "Literary studies" published the review "G.P. Belchenko. The teaching of the blessed Theodosius, hegumen of the Caves, about the executions of God" (1901).
The author does not resolve the issue of the authorship of Theodosius, but fairly, however, notes that the resemblance to "Zlatostruj" does not exclude the belonging of the sermon to Theodosius.

Between all princes princes Ostrozky were most rich. But they did not revere them so much for wealth, as for the fact that they kept their Ukrainian nationality firmly.

With his collections of folk songs, concerts of his choir and his own creations, he awoke in Ukrainian citizenship a great interest and love for Ukrainian songs and music.
